GEORGE TOWN, Dec 18 — Penang are aiming to clinch at least one of three trophies to be contested next season.

The FA of Penang president Datuk Seri Nazir Ariff Mushir Ariff on Wednesday said the Panthers should at least take home one of the Cups — FA Cup, the Malaysia Cup and the League — by the end of the season.

“Winning silverware will reflect on the success and growth of the team.

“We have set a benchmark to finish within the top six of the Super League after the five-year struggle,” he said, following Penang’s promotion to the top flight after finishing second in the Super League last season.

He also announced the lineup of 30 players — 14 new signings with four foreign players from Australia, Argentina and Brazil, adding the squad were picked by coach Jacksen F. Tiago.

“When he first coached Penang (in March last year), he had to adjust to the team but now we decided to give him what he wants for the club,” Nazir said.

“With this, I expect the club to put on a great show. No excuses.”

Nazir said the Panthers will play at Stadium Bandaraya until the renovation work at Batu Kawan completes “by second half of next season”.
