KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 — Malaysian Moto2 ace Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah is hoping for a top five finish when Sepang hosts the penultimate round of the World MotoGP this weekend.
The Petronas Raceline Malaysia rider is confident that the result can be achieved if his crew can set up the bike well and the weather remains favourable on Sunday.
Apart from the weather and the bike set up, the Sepang International Circuit plays an important role to ensure a positive result said Hafizh.
“When racing at home, I want to do my best. What is important is a good bike set up and favourable weather,” he told reporters at the Petronas Talent Day Programme in Balakong Jaya, here today.
In 2012, the rider who emerged from the Petronas Talent Programme created history by finishing third in the Moto2 category at the 2012 edition at the Sepang International Circuit despite competing on a wildcard.
Hafizh is currently 18th in the overall Moto2 race which involves 28 riders with 56 points after 16 rounds.
Meanwhile, Team Petronas AHM Malaysia rider Mohd Ramdan Mohd Rosli who will be riding as a wildcard entry for the second time in the Moto2 at SIC, will be hoping to make amends for his last place finish in Catalonia, Spain in June. — Bernama
