KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — Malaysia’s misfortune against arch-rival Thailand continued in the Istaf International Super Series Sepak Takraw Championships final at the Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar after going down 1-2, here tonight.

The squad under Najib Iman put up good resistance against their Thai opponents but luck was not on their side as all three sets were closely fought encounters.

Malaysia lost 20-22, 21-18, 21-23 in a match that provided full of action, thrills and spills for the fans.

“This was the best performance from our regu and I am proud of the boys. Lack of fitness and pressure to win saw the boys a number of mistakes that proved costly,” said Najib
