KUANTAN, Nov 4 — The decision to take the Malaysia Cup on a statewide tour will be made by the Pahang Football Association (PBNP) after getting a suitable date and method.
The Tok Gajah squad’s manager Datuk Che Nasir Salleh said when, where and how the tour would be done would be discussed after getting the consent of the president first.
“As was decided by the Tengku Muda yesterday, the Malaysia Cup trophy will be paraded at every district in the whole of Pahang,” he told Bernama here today.
However, he said the decision had yet to be made as the final of the Malaysia Cup just concluded yesterday.
Pahang ended a 21-year drought after beating Kelantan 1-0 in the final of the Malaysia Cup at Shah Alam Stadium last night.
The sole goal of Pahang’s imported player, Matias Ruben Conti saw the Tok Gajah squad winning the coveted trophy for the third time after 1983 and 1992.
Prior to the final, Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob announced a holiday for Pahang today and said rewards were in store for the squad if they ended the draught. — Bernama
