KUANTAN, Nov 2 — “Nothing is impossible and no team is unbeatable” is the credo of hang assistant team manager Zainal Abidin Hassan.

He said this was proven in Pahang’s record in the Malaysia Cup competition, when they trounced PKNS and Sarawak.

“I was very proud when Pahang beat PKNS in the quarter-final and Sarawak in the semi-final because I was aware both the teams were champions in their respective groups while Pahang were only placed second in its group,” he said.

He reminded the Pahang team at a gathering Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob had with players and fans of the Tok Gajah Squad here yesterday.

Zainal Abidin was also confident of the Pahang players’ performance to ensure the Malaysia Cup would be brought back to Pahang to repeat their achievement in 1983 and 1992.

The Tok Gajah (The Elephants) first won the Cup in 1983 when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was Menteri Besar of Pahang. Pahang won the championship again in 1992 and were runners up in 1984, 1994, 1995 and 1997. — Bernama
