SEOUL, Oct 10 — A long-running fan site dedicated to former Big Bang member T.O.P has announced it is shutting down after two decades.

ChoiSeungHyun.com, regarded as the artist’s main fan page, issued a statement on October 10 citing dissatisfaction with both T.O.P and his agency, TOPSPOT Pictures.

“We have decided to end operations because we can no longer tolerate T.O.P and TOPSPOT PICTURES’ turning away from reality and shirking responsibility, and their attitude of taking fans’ devotion for granted,” the site said, according to Chosun Biz.

The fan site explained that the cancellation of a planned exhibition was unavoidable due to low participation and rising costs.

It added that the decision had later been mischaracterised as the actions of fans upset over a relationship, while in its view the agency placed greater emphasis on the fact that reservation details were publicly shared than on the underlying issue.

The exhibition, Off Grid: New Ground, had been scheduled for October 31 and November 1 as T.O.P’s first solo photo showcase, inspired by his album Another Dimension.

The site stressed: “Fans’ love and support are not something to be used when convenient and ignored when inconvenient.” It warned that if falsehoods or malicious slander continued, it would respond with evidence.

ChoiSeungHyun.com said ending operations felt like denying the time and devotion given to T.O.P over 20 years. The statement also disclosed conversations with the agency, alleging that tasks normally handled by management had been left to fans, Chosun Biz reported.

In a direct message to the artist, the site said: “I hope you will not isolate yourself among people who only tell you what you want to hear. Uncomfortable realities do not disappear if ignored. I remember the promise to repay fans’ love once you became an adult. What returned to us who believed those words was not repayment but resentment.”
