LONDON, Sept 24 — Taylor Swift yesterday announced she is releasing an expanded version of her album The Life Of A Showgirl with four new songs, reported PA Media/dpa.
The singer, 36, revealed the new tracks were written after it became the fastest-selling album in United States (US) history in its first week, with four million equivalent units sold.
Swift travelled to Sweden to celebrate the record with music producers Max Martin and Shellback, whose real name is Karl Schuster, and recorded the songs there.
She said in a statement: “About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing.
“Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life Of A Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history.
“I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album.
“Really, we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there, and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs.
“I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made.
“The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore, including four new songs, is out on Friday and available to pre-order and save now.”
The Life Of A Showgirl, released in October 2025, is Swift’s 12th studio album and was recorded during the European leg of her Eras Tour in 2024. It was the global bestselling album of 2025.
Her previous album, The Tortured Poets Department, was the bestselling album of 2024.
It comes after Swift announced the release of a new single, Patient Zero, on Tuesday.
Swift revealed the new track will be available on Friday and shared the cover art, which featured the singer leaning against a wall wearing a black high-neck, sleeveless top.
The track is Swift’s first release since she married NFL star Travis Kelce at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in July. — Bernama-PA Media/dpa
