SEOUL, Aug 14 — K-pop group BigBang has been appointed the first honorary ambassador of South Korea’s national space agency, with the group set to help promote its vision and policies to the public.
The appointment was reported by Yonhap News Agency, citing BigBang’s agency YG Entertainment, which said the group would serve as the public face of the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA).
BigBang will help communicate KASA’s future vision and key policies in a more accessible and friendly manner, YG Entertainment said.
The appointment marks the first time KASA has named an honorary ambassador since it was established in 2024.
The group is also preparing to release its digital single BiiiG next week.
The release will coincide with BigBang’s plans for a new world tour marking the 20th anniversary of its debut.
