SEOUL, Nov 10 — K-pop singer Hyuna took to social media to apologise to fans after collapsing on stage in Macau.

Hyuna, 33, whose stage name is a shortened version of her birthname Kim Hyun-ah, had collapsed while performing her iconic solo hit Bubble Pop.

Video online showed her collapsing midway and then being carried offstage by her dancers and a member of staff.

Hyuna posted on social media, apologising to fans.

“I’m really, really sorry. Although it was a short period since the previous performance, I wanted to show a good appearance, but I felt unprofessional.”

The singer said she did not remember anything that happened during the incident but felt sorry for fans who had paid money to see her.

She then said that she would “try to build my stamina even more and work hard consistently.”

Hyuna also insisted that she was fine.

“Don’t worry about me. I hope everyone has a good night. Good night,” she said, ending her long post.

Hyuna’s fans had been worried after the singer’s posts with one showing her on a scale and berating herself for weight gain.

“You used to be so skinny, you can do it again,” she posted.

Extreme dieting is common in K-pop with the pressure on idols to stay thin even if it affects their health.
