KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 — What happened when you had to buy clothes because your daughter stained them with her nail polish?
In local singer Tomok's case, he recouped some of the losses by selling them via an Instagram video at reduced prices. To his surprise, all of it sold out within an hour, reported MStar.
He recently made the news when he chronicled in a video that his daughter's oopsie moment took place at a boutique in The Gardens Mall, resulting in him paying for four pairs of jeans priced at RM1,299 each as well as four t-shirts — two of them costing RM499 each and the other two priced at RM449 each. Everything totaled up to RM5,593.
"Alhamdulillah, I started selling yesterday morning after doing a video on the price list for the items and they were sold out within an hour.
"Some of my followers from Johor bought it as well as my friends.
"We managed to get back around RM3,000 plus. Even though it’s still a loss for me, at least it lessens the burden of paying the full amount last night,” he said.
The New Boyz's lead singer sold the jeans for RM800 each while the t-shirts went for RM300 and RM250 each.
He added that the incident taught him to be more cautious in the future.
“Fortunately I can still afford to pay the amount that night. I don’t know what would happen if it were to happen at a boutique where the items are priced at tens of thousands of ringgit.
“The incident has taught me to be more careful in the future. At the same time, the video I’ve shared previously could also benefit other parents out there,” he said.
The incident took place while Tomok’s wife was looking to buy a pair of jeans at the store while he was on daddy duty.
Following the accident, Tomok took full responsibility and paid for the items.
He added that the reason he wanted to resell the clothes was because none of them was in his size.
Tomok’s initial video garnered over a million views with over 2,000 comments from his friends and followers applauding him for keeping a cool head in handling the whole situation.
