KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — Since early this month, actor Farid Kamil has been locked out of his matrimonial home that he shared with actress Diana Danielle, as she pays the house rental.

The counsel representing Diana, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kadir, said the actress has the right to do so as she had filed for divorce on March 10, mStar reported.

Akberdin was responding to reports quoting Farid, or his full name, Farid Kamil Zahari, 42, that he had been barred from entering his home since early this month.

According to Akberdin, the relationship between his client and the defendant had been frosty.

“That is why my client went to court,” he reportedly said.

On the Conciliatory Committee (JKP) process ordered by Syarie Judge Shukran Yusof, Akberdin said in the event there is still no solution after undergoing the JKP, a judge would be appointed by the Syariah Court. This is to determine a way out for the couple and their wedding woes.

The judge had ordered the JKP after Farid refused to utter the talak (pronouncement of divorce) when the case was brought up at Petaling Lower Syariah Court on Monday (March 20).

Diana, or her full name Diana Danielle Danny Beeson, 32, filed the divorce application on the grounds that she and Farid have irreconcilable differences.

She also cited shiqaq (prolonged dispute) and could no longer live together as husband and wife in her application.

The couple were married on November 3, 2012 and have two children — Muhammad, 10, and Nur Aurora, eight.
