KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 — Scalpers are having a field day in regard to Cantopop superstar Eason Chan's Fear and Dreams concerts in Malaysia.
A check by Sin Chew Daily found that the cheapest ticket of RM298 was now being sold at RM1,309. Meanwhile, VIP tickets were going for as high as RM23,000 from the original RM998 on the secondary market.
Commenting on the matter, organiser Star Planet's operations director Carmen Liew said strict checks would be carried out on the concert days and those found to have bought their tickets through illegal channels would be turned away.
She reminded fans not to buy from scalpers as they might get fake tickets.
Lau also said if necessary, ticket holders may need to show their identification papers to confirm they are the genuine purchasers.
During the Hong Kong leg of the concert in October, tickets were sold as high as HK$28,000 (RM16,132) each.
It was previously reported that tickets for Chan's May 12 to 14 concerts at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil were snapped up in two hours after sales opened on March 6.
