KUALA LUMPUR, February 27 — South Korean K-pop star J-Hope has begun military enlistment.
The 29-year-old member of popular K-Pop boyband BTS will be the second member after Jin to fulfil the mandatory 18 months of service.
J-Hope’s enlistment was confirmed in a statement by BTS’ music label BIGHIT MUSIC on Weverse.
"We would like to inform our fans that J-hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement,” the statement said.
"We will inform you of further updates in due course. We ask you for your continued love and support for J-hope until he completes his military service and safely returns.”
Disney+ recently released documentary on February 17 j-hope IN THE BOX, which focuses on J-Hope whose real name is Jung Ho-seok and the journey of making of his first solo album Jack in The Box.
The singer recently became an ambassador of French luxury fashion house, Louis Vitton.
BTS is set to reunite in 2025 after all its seven members complete military service.
