KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 — Taiwan celebrity Barbie Hsu has applied to the Taipei district court to enforce the divorce agreement with ex-husband Wang Xiaofei, accusing the entrepreneur of failing to pay her alimony.

Wang, from mainland China, is said to have stopped paying Hsu from March following her marriage to South Korean celebrity Koo Jun-yup, and the amount had since snowballed to NT$5 million (RM733,490), Mirror Media reported.

With the move by Hsu, known for classic idol dramas like Meteor Garden, Wang might lose his assets in Taiwan including a hotel.

Responding to the matter, Wang denied he defaulted on the payment but had continued paying the child support for their children — a daughter born in 2014 and a son born in 2016 — and maintenance to Hsu, Straits Times reported.

He added that the bone of contention was he refused to pay the additional family expenses and utility bills for their luxury home in Taipei.

To prove his point, he posted on Weibo a list of the expenses he paid for the children and the home this year.

Wang also said he should not be paying for the utility bills at Hsu's home now that she has remarried.

“I am also paying for the chauffeur and helper, and did not miss a single cent of the children’s school fees and living expenses,” he reportedly said.

The couple announced their divorce in November last year.
