KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 — Famous for his role in the 1990s series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, actor Jason David Frank — who played the Green Power Ranger — has died at age 49.

Frank’s manager, Justine Hunt confirmed the news yesterday (November 20), according to Associated Press.

“Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.

“He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed,” Hunt said in a statement.

Following the news, fellow Power Rangers co-star Walter Emmanuel Jones shared a couple of posts on social media. He offered his condolences along with a short clip of him and Frank at their last meeting.

“Can’t believe it. RIP Jason David Frank. My heart is so sad to have lost another member of our special family,” wrote Jones, who is best known for his role as the original Black Power Ranger,.

In 2001, the original Yellow Power Ranger actor Thuy Trang died in a car accident at the age of 27.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers followed five teenagers battling forces of evil to save earth. Frank played Tommy Oliver in the series which ran from 1993 to 1996.

His character was initially a brainwashed villain who was later inducted into the group as the Green Power Ranger.

He became one of the most popular characters in the franchise after being brought back as the leader of the group, the White Power Ranger.

According to Collider, Frank reprised his role several times in films and television over the years, with the most recent in 2018. He has also voiced the character in video games.

In the 2017 Power Rangers reboot film, Frank had a cameo.

Frank had a black belt in karate and previously joined martial arts competitions.
