LOS ANGELES, April 13 — American actor John Krasinski is reportedly gearing up to direct and produce a new movie called Life on Mars, based on Cecil Castellucci’s sci-fi short story, We Have Always Lived on Mars.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that actor-turned-director Krasinski already has his next big-screen project lined up with a movie adaptation of the short story We Have Always Lived on Mars, by American author Castellucci.

Krasinski is teaming up again with the producers of A Quiet Place — Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller — and Paramount is in talks to pick up the project. A screenwriter is yet to be named and Krasinski is not expected to star in the film.

Life on Mars follows a woman in a Martian colony who one day discovers her ability to breathe the Red Planet’s air, shaking up her life and the lives of her fellow colony inhabitants.
