LOS ANGELES, April 10 — Lionsgate has released the first trailer for upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller Future World that stars James Franco.
Also starring in the film are Suki Waterhouse, Lucy Liu, Milla Jovovich, Jeffrey Wahlberg, Margarita Levieva, Snoop Dogg, George Lewis Jr and Cliff “Method Man” Smith.
Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where water and gasoline have long evaporated, the film follows a boy named Prince (Jeffrey Wahlberg) as he searches the barren desert for a mythical medicine to save his dying mother. Along the way, he meets warlord (Franco) and his robot Ash (Waterhouse), which leads to a daring journey through the desolate wastelands.
The synopsis of the film reads: “Inside a desert oasis, a queen (Liu) lays dying as her son Prince (Wahlberg) travels across barren waste lands to find a near-mythical medicine to save her life. After evading violent raiders on motorbikes led by the Warlord (Franco) and his enforcer (Smith), Prince meets Ash (Waterhouse), the Warlord’s robot sex companion-assassin who’s in search of her own soul. As Prince is captured by the Druglord (Jovovich), the Warlord’s forces roar in — and Prince fights to save the remnants of humanity.”
Future World is set for release on May 25.
