LOS ANGELES, March 30 — Homecoming is the latest instalment in the Spider-Man franchise and the first to be set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the film, the hero is back to his normal life after various fights with the likes of The Black Panther as well as Avengers Iron Man and Thor.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says: “...It's the first full Spider-Man film that takes place in high school and he's got other high school friends and for the very first time, somebody learns his secret and he's got a best friend and he's not sure if he can keep his mouth shut but his friend Ned has learned his secret early on in the film and suddenly you have an entirely new dynamic for Spider-Man.”

British actor Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man — who is also known as Peter Parker. The latest instalment explores what it's like to be a normal teenager — who is also a super hero.

Actor Tom Holland says: “This is a very different take on Spider-Man. This is something we haven't seen before. Obviously I'm a lot younger so we can really play on the youthful side of the character.

“ We've seen the soldier, we've seen the billionaire, we've seen the god and now it's time to see the kid and I think it's fun to see what would happen if you gave a 15 year old superpowers and I think what would happen is he'd have a pretty great time.”

In the new film Spider-Man's new nemesis is The Vulture, played by Birdman and Batman star Michael Keaton.

Feige says: “The journey is different for Adrian Toomes, The Vulture. He is just a normal guy. He's a regular guy, he lives in this world and suddenly all these unbelievable things are happening and he starts to feel small so he starts to gather and scavenge all this amazing technology that is left behind after these super hero battles and he builds this unbelievable wingsuit and he starts a business of his own.”
