SINGAPORE, Nov 22 — The annual anime convention AFA is coming to its core event in Singapore November 25-27, 2016, with an exciting lineup for its Main Stage.

Following on from conventions in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, the largest and most followed J-pop culture event in Southeast Asia culminates in Singapore at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year, fans will be treated to special guests, showcases and presentations on the event’s mainstage throughout the weekend.

Celebrity guests

Anime fans will have the opportunity to meet the voices behind some of their favorite characters, including Izuku Midoriya (the main protagonist of superhero manga series My Hero Academia), Kanae Ito (Sword Art Online) and Nobuhiko Okamoto (Assassination Classroom).

Presentations

Presentations during the AFA Singapore conference include CEO of ROBO GARAGE, Tomotaka Takahashi, accompanied by a secret VIP special guest as part of the Imagination Drives series of conferences. The producers of popular robot series, Frame Arms will also be making a special announcement with an as-yet-undisclosed guest on the Main Stage during the event.

Screenings

With over 200 million views on their YouTube and Nico Nico Douga pages, creative unit HoneyWorks’ music has been used in the original anime movie, I’ve always liked you - Confess Your Love Committee. A special screening of the movie will take place during AFA Singapore, followed by a talk show featuring singer CHiCO, guest vocalist Sana and composer Gom.

Concerts

Big acts from the “I Love Anisong” concert lineup include the famous J-pop singer and lyricist Aimer, who only released an image of her real face in August 2016. Popular hip-hop trio Home Made Kazoku will be performing on the Friday, one of the last times fans wil be able to see them live since announcing they’d be taking a break from December 2016. Five members of the supergroup JAM Project — Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endoh, Hiroshi Kitadani, Masami Okui and Yoshiki Fukuyamawill — will also join the lineup.
