LOS ANGELES, June 23 — The last that fans saw of Rory Gilmore was the aspiring journalist heading off after graduation to cover Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

Now, two tantalising teasers appear to suggest that US First Lady Michelle Obama will be making a cameo in the Gilmore Girls revival when it airs later this year on Netflix.

The first photo, which was shared by Michelle, showed the series’ star Alexis Bledel visiting the White House.

“It’s Rory! More coming soon…” the caption read.

In another teaser, the 34-year-old shouted, “I’m back at the White House,” without revealing much else.

Unfortunately for fans, Netflix were adamant that a Michelle Obama cameo is not in the works.

“Michelle Obama is not in Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life,” a rep for the streaming service told Entertainment Tonight.

“It was just something fun Alexis did to support the launch of Michelle’s Snapchat channel and her Let Girls Learn initiative.”

Fans, however, are still not convinced.

After all, Michelle launched her Snapchat account on Tuesday, with a cameo by late night host James Corden who teased a “Carpool Karaoke” White House edition.
