SINGAPORE, April 2 — Actor Tony Eusoff appeared before a Singapore court on Thursday after he was allegedly caught with drugs.
Singapore’s Berita Harian reported yesterday that he was charged with the possession of Class A drugs under the island nation's Drug Abuse Act.
The portal also said that the 38-year-old actor, whose real name is Anthony Joseph Anak Hermas Rajiman, was found with a packet containing no less than 4.56g of a vegetable substance that was analysed and found to contain traces of marijuana.
Tony was charged with possession of the drugs at the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) bus arrival hall at the Tuas checkpoint on March 12.
The Sarawakian-born actor was in Singapore to film a drama called The Hush.
If found guilty, he could be jailed up to 10 years, and fined as much as S$20,000 (RM57,775) or both.
The case will be rementioned at the National Court in Singapore on April 12.
Tony is an established actor who has appeared in numerous films, musicals and plays, most notably as the lead character, Tan Sri P. Ramlee, in P. Ramlee The Musical.
