LOS ANGELES, Jan 8 — Martin Scorsese is working on a biopic that will centre on the life of classical pianist Byron Janis.

The film will be based on Janis’s autobiography Chopin and Beyond: My Extraordinary Life in Music and the Paranormal, reports Variety.

In the book, the piano virtuoso traces his musical career, which was marked by his discovery of two long-lost Chopin scores and paranormal experiences that shaped both his life and music.

Janis also documents his battle with arthritis.

Paramount will be developing the film and the screenplay is being written by Peter Glanz. — AFP-Relaxnews
