LOS ANGELES, Nov 17 — In wake of the Paris attacks, Coldplay decided to pay ribute to the victims with a touching rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine”.

According to Billboard, Coldplay were set to perform new material from their forthcoming album “A Head Full of Dreams” at Los Angeles’ Belasco Theatre on Friday night. But after news broke of the tragedy, the rock group decided to instead perform acoustic versions of some of their greatest hits.

“Tonight’s live stream for TIDAL & KROQ has been postponed out of respect for the terrible events in Paris,” the band wrote on their website. “We’ll play a short set of old material so that your journey isn’t wasted. We send our love and prayers to the people of Paris.”

Among other fan favourites that the band played in tribute to Paris were 2000’s “Sparks” and 2005’s emotionally charged “Fix You”.
