TAIPEI, Oct 26 — When he finally announced his daughter’s English name to the world last week, many of Jay Chou’s fans assumed that the Mandopop king and his wife Hannah Quinlivan liked Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway.
But it turns out that the name “Hathaway” has an entirely different meaning altogether for the celebrity couple — one that will make you go, “Awwwww”.
On.cc reported the proud new dad as saying during a rare public appearance in Taiwan last week that Hathaway is a combination of the words “Hannah”, “thaw” and “Jay”. In other words, his 22-year-old wife has melted Chou’s heart.
Fans will also have to get used to seeing a lot less of Chou now as he revealed that he has cleared his calendar to devote more time to his daughter.
The 36-year-old musician confirmed that he had turned down numerous lucrative offers like year-end concert performances, as well as the chance to return to the director’s chair because “it takes too much of my time and energy. I’m so tired!”
Chou may be experiencing all the sleep-deprived nights that come with being a new father, but he proudly admitted to reporters that he is now “very skilled” at changing diapers and warming milk!
