KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - Media OutReach Newswire - 23 July 2026 – Lazada Malaysia is strengthening social selling by giving creators deeper, firsthand knowledge of the products and brands they recommend, helping consumers make more informed purchasing decisions.

This approach was brought to life at Lazada's invitation-only Glam Meets & Glitz or GLAM event, which gathered more than 300 key opinion leaders, content creators, brand partners and retailers. At the heart of the event was a simple principle: creators should understand the products they are recommending before introducing them to their audiences.

Featuring 70 participating brands and sellers, GLAM gave creators direct access to the people, products and stories behind the brands available on LazMall. Through interactive demonstrations, hands-on previews and conversations with brand representatives, creators learned how products work, what differentiates them, who they may fit into consumers' everyday lives.

For shoppers, this can translate into more useful and relevant social content. Rather than simply being shown what to buy, consumers can see products demonstrated, better understand their features and assess how they may meet a particular need before deciding whether to add to cart and make a purchase.

"Social selling should do more than generate attention. It should help consumers understand what they are buying, why it may be relevant to them and how they can access it through a trusted shopping environment," said Kevin Yap, Head of Business and Operations, Lazada Malaysia.

"Our ambition is to make LazMall a trusted destination for creator-led product discovery in Malaysia. Glam Meets & Glitz gives creators the firsthand knowledge they need to produce more useful and relevant content. When creators understand the brands and products they represent, consumers can make purchasing decisions with greater clarity and confidence," he added.

The event featured LazMall retailers across groceries, household essentials, beauty and wellness, health and personal care, and consumer electronics. Participating brands included Vodana, Jean Perry, Underwater, StyleKorean, Flowin Group, Better Day and Lancôme, alongside SharkNinja, Nestlé, Colgate, N4 Camera Store, Beneunder and Tagi.

GLAM also highlighted LazMall's expanding cross-border assortment, including brands and products from China and Korea. Featured names included China's Ubras, as well as Korean brands Cleardea, LosyKim, Lecent and Rejuyoung, giving creators an opportunity to learn more about brands that may be less familiar to Malaysian shoppers.

Among the event's exclusive previews was the Lancôme Absolue Longevity MD Anti-Aging skincare range, available exclusively on Lazada. By experiencing the range firsthand, creators could better understand its features and proposition before presenting it to their audiences. For consumers, this creates a richer way to discover new launches through practical demonstrations and informed creator content, rather than campaign visuals alone.

Lazada is also extending the journey from social discovery to purchase through its partnership with Meta. Under Meta's Facebook Affiliate Partnerships programme, eligible creators in Malaysia can connect their Lazada affiliate accounts to Facebook, search Lazada's product catalogue and tag relevant products directly in Reels and Feed posts. Instagram integration is expected to follow.

The integration makes it easier for consumers to move from seeing a product in creator content to finding the corresponding item on Lazada, reducing the need to search manually or navigate through multiple similar listings.

Together, GLAM and the Meta partnership support two connected parts of the social-selling journey. GLAM helps creators build the product knowledge needed to produce more credible and informative content, while the Meta integration creates a more direct route from that content to the relevant product on Lazada.

By combining creator education, direct brand access and social-to-commerce tools, Lazada aims to give consumers a more informed and convenient way to discover local and international products, understand how they may meet their needs and shop through LazMall's official brand stores and verified sellers.
