KULAI, May 27 — JStar Motion Sdn Bhd (JStar), a subsidiary of China-based Zhejiang Jiecang Linear Motion Technology Co Ltd (Jiecang), has invested RM300 million in setting up its manufacturing plants in Kulai, Johor.

JStar’s director Tony Wong said the plants were the company’s first manufacturing set up in Asean, signifying its confidence and support for the economic development of both the state and Malaysia as a whole.

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the plants at i-Park@Indahpura, here today, he said the company had grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 2019.

Wong added that the four plants incorporate the most innovative and advanced manufacturing technology such as automation and robotics.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

In his speech, Onn Hafiz said JStar’s plants are equipped with advanced production processing equipment, adding that the company will employ 600 workers.

“I am pleased to note that the company is also planning to invest another RM100 million on automated equipment or robotics to enhance its production capacity within the next two years,” he said.

JStar Motion is an international high-tech foreign enterprise in manufacturing intelligent and ergonomic products.

Its parent company, Jiecang was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2018.

Since its listing, Jiecang had expanded its footprint worldwide to support its growing business in the region, and currently has subsidiaries and factories in Asia, Europe and the United States.

Its range of products includes linear actuators, frames, smart controls and accessories, with wide

applications in fields such as smart office, medical care, home care, smart home and industrial automation. — Bernama
