KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 — Touch ‘n Go eWallet boasts having the largest merchant network for a Malaysian eWallet in Singapore, enabling Malaysians to go truly cashless when travelling to the island republic.
Touch ‘n Go eWallet now is accepted at over 130,000 touchpoints throughout Singapore.
Besides making payments at shops and even taxis in Singapore via the Alipay+ network, Touch ‘n Go eWallet users can now scan and pay at any shops or even local kopitiam and hawkers that display the NETS QR code via the NETS payment terminals or SGQR.
This was made possible after both Malaysia’s Bank Negara Malaysia and Singapore’s Monetary Authority of Singapore officially launched the cross-border QR payment linkage in late March.
The move also enables Singaporeans to use their respective eWallets to scan and pay at over 1.5 million merchants throughout Malaysia that display the DuitNow QR code.
NETS QR is Singapore’s National QR code similar to Malaysia’s DuitNow QR.
The cross-border QR linkage enables a seamless QR transaction and users will be able to view the live foreign exchange rates displayed in the eWallet app before making a payment.
To make a payment, just launch TNG eWallet, tap on Scan and then scan the NETS QR or SGQR code.
For merchants that accept Alipay+, you can tap on Pay from the TNG eWallet home screen, swipe up, select Singapore and then show the Alipay+ QR code to the merchant.

For the widest acceptance worldwide, TNG eWallet also has an eWallet-linked Visa Prepaid card which is accepted at over 80 million Visa merchants and ATMs worldwide.
The Touch ‘n Go Visa card is also Malaysia’s first numberless card and you can manage your spending or even freeze the card directly from the TNG eWallet app.
If you’re travelling to China, TNG Digital has also revealed that Touch ‘n Go eWallet is now accepted by over 10 million Alipay merchants in Mainland China using the Alipay+ QR code.
However, take note that the feature may not work with smaller merchants that use their personal Alipay QR codes as well as legacy Alipay merchants. — SoyaCincau
