KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 ― Bursa Malaysia remained lower at mid-morning, weighed down by selling in selected heavyweights, namely Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd, Maxis Bhd, Public Bank Bhd, Digi.Com Bhd, and Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd.

These five counters dragged the composite index down by a combined 12.91 points.

At 11am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) erased 8.18 points to 1,478.36 from last Friday's closing of 1,486.54.

The market bellwether opened 2.77 points easier at 1,483.77.

Market breadth however was positive with gainers leading losers 424 to 338, while 327 counters were unchanged, 1,169 untraded, and 67 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.43 billion units valued at RM691.67 million.

Heavyweights Maybank was flat at RM8.67, Pubic Bank trimmed six sen to RM4.46, Petronas Chemicals shed 42 sen to RM8.66, IHH Healthcare fell seven sen to RM5.93, while CIMB rose six sen to RM5.86.

Among the actives, Advance Synergy inched down half-a-sen to 20 sen, MMAG was flat at three sen, while MQ Technology and Top Glove were one sen higher at five sen and 92 sen respectively, and Sapura Energy rose half-a-sen to four sen.

On the index board, the FBM Emas Index decreased 20.96 points to 10,555.83, the FBMT 100 Index fell 26.00 points to 10,273.69, and the FBM Emas Shariah Index slipped 29.37 points to 10,658.25.

The FBM ACE climbed 40.20 points to 5,231.84 and the FBM 70 put on 91.15 points to 12,729.50

Sector-wise, the Financial Services Index perked up 14.02 points to 16,713.18, the Industrial Products and Services Index decreased 3.06 points to 182.30, while the Plantation Index lost 14.22 points to 6,802.93 and the Energy Index eased 0.75 of-a-point to 758.34. ― Bernama
