KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 — Malaysian companies shone at the recent 2022-2023 World Branding Awards held in Kensington Palace, England.

The World Branding Forum said winners included companies such as Astro, Farm Fresh, Maybank, Munchy’s, Spritzer, Unifi, Avis, Dave’s Deli, Digi, Inside Scoop, Aeon, Al-Ikhsan Sports, and AirAsia.

“MR D.I.Y. took South-east Asia by storm as it was declared the top ‘Home Improvement Retailer’ brand in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines and scooped the Regional Tier award in the Home Improvement Retailer category,” it said in a statement.

World Branding Forum executive director Danny Pek said the award ceremony was a celebration of some of the best brands around the world.

“The awards acknowledge the tireless effort put in by the brand’s teams that build and maintain a presence in an ever-evolving market,” he said.

The 15th edition of the World Branding Awards saw over 3,500 brands from more than 45 countries named “Brand of the Year”; of these, fewer than 250 were declared winners.

Lurpak, Club Med, Yakult, Spotify, CoCo, Amazon, Netflix, Neutrogena, Lego, and Cadbury were among the companies announced as global winners.

Other National Tier winners include Nongfu Spring (China), Hang Seng Bank (Hong Kong), Janji Jiwa (Indonesia), and Toast Box (Singapore), to name a few.
