KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 ― Bursa Malaysia was slightly higher at mid-afternoon, with the key index remaining in positive territory amid a mixed regional performance.

At 3pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) climbed 3.25 points to 1,449.17 compared yesterday's close of 1,445.92.

The market bellwether opened 5.06 points higher at 1,450.98.

On the broader market, gainers led decliners 392 to 336, while 423 counters were unchanged, 1,167 untraded and 13 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.52 billion units valued at RM979.87 million.

Of the heavyweight stocks, Maybank and Petronas Gas were flat at RM8.54 and RM16.98, respectively, while CIMB dipped 1.0 sen to RM5.47. Both Public Bank and Press Metal fell 4.0 sen each to RM4.45 and RM4.38, respectively.

Among the actives, Saudee added 2.0 sen to 5.0 sen, Opcom rose 2.5 sen to 94.5 sen, and Shin Yang gained 1.5 sen to 90.5 sen. Both KNM and MYEG were flat at 4.0 sen and 89 sen, respectively.

On the index board, the FBM Emas Index gained 20.62 points to 10,287.75, the FBM 70 went up 16.95 points to 12,225.53, and the FBMT 100 Index improved by 24.49 points to 10,022.61.

The FBM Emas Shariah Index advanced 22.92 points to 10,358.62 and the FBM ACE rose 31.37 points to 4,909.39.

Sector-wise, the Energy Index was 14.45 points higher at 709.95, the Plantation Index climbed 49.78 points to 6,842.71, and the Industrial Products and Services Index inched up 0.38 of a point to 175.05. The Financial Services Index grew by 5.13 points to 16,317.43. ― Bernama
