KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 — The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar today on inadequate buying support, dealers said.
At 9am, the local unit was quoted at 3.2425/2445 against the US dollar compared with Friday's 3.2390/2420.
The dealer said the ringgit was lower against a basket of major currencies, but strengthened against the yen.
The local unit depreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.5880/5900 from 2.5862/5907 on Friday and eased against the euro to 4.4769/4807 from 4.4753/4804, previously.
It depreciated against the British pound to 5.4442/4488 from 5.4350/4414 Friday but outpaced the yen to 3.1597/1623 from 3.1622/1657 on Friday. — Bernama
