KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained marginally higher mid-afternoon, with mild buying momentum seen in selected heavyweights and lower-liners.

At 3.03pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 1.43 points easier at 1,851.97. Heavyweights Public Bank rose 4 sen to RM20.02, Maybank and TNB were flat at RM9.83 and RM11.88 respectively, while CIMB and Sime Darby fell 1 sen each to RM7.39 and RM9.29 respectively.

Market breadth was positive, with gainers edging losers 388 to 357 while 315 counters were unchanged, 566 untraded and 20 others were suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.390 billion shares worth RM979.83 million.

On the scoreboard, the Industrial Index was 0.83 of a point higher at 3,192.15, the Plantation Index rose 22.79 points to 8,935.28, but the Finance Index shed 4.75 points to 16,945.35.

The FBM Emas Index gained 10.02 points to 12,866.02, the FBMT100 Index increased 6.95 points to 12,501.21, the FBM Ace jumped 53.63 points to 6,891.21 and the FBM 70 slipped 2.85 points to 14,135.53.

Among actives, 1 Utopia added 1 sen to 9 sen, LB Aluminium rose 2 sen to 77 sen, Iris Corp gained 1.5 sen to 50 sen while Asia Bioenergy was flat at 10.5 sen. — Bernama
