KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 ― Shares on Bursa Malaysia was traded slightly higher mid-morning Thursday on mild buying interest for the local equities.

At 11am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,819.98, up 1.38 points, after opening 1.74 points better at 1,820.34.

Decliners outnumbered advancers 263 to 258, while 302 counters were unchanged, 808 untraded and 15 others were suspended.

Turnover totalled 575.19 million shares worth RM494.18 million.   

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index earned 11.69 points to 16,371.68, and the Industrial Index added 0.63 of a point to 3,174.19 while the Plantation Index declined 7.93 points to 8,970.14.

The FBM Emas Index increased 4.27 points to 12,616.92, the FBMT100 Index rose 4.23 points to 12,281.87, the FBM ACE added 47.44 points to 6,686.41 but the FBM 70 was 15.04 points lower at 13,874.33.

Among actives, KNM-WA rose 1.5 sen to 20.5 sen, Infortech Alliance lost one sen to 44 sen and Malaysia Airline fell half-a-sen to 24 sen.

As for heavyweights, Maybank improved three sen to RM9.54, Tenaga Nasional was flat at RM11.92 and CIMB earned one sen to RM7.03. ― Bernama
