KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia continued to trade lower at mid-morning today dragged by losses in heavyweight counters.

At 11am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was quoted at 1,817.06, down 11.49 points, after opening 1.22 points lower at 1,827.33.

Decliners outnumbered advancers 376 to 172, while 312 counters were unchanged, 771 untraded and 15 others suspended.

Turnover totalled 561.36 million shares worth RM516.79 million.

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index erased 120.6 points to 16,346.81, the Plantation Index declined 11.85 points to 8,956.92 and the Industrial Index lost 18.29 points to 3,168.11.

The FBM Emas Index decreased 74.63 points to 12,604.22, the FBMT100 Index fell 76.77 points to 12,272.52, the FBM 70 was 83.73 points lower at 13,904.23 and the FBM ACE lost 9.84 points to 6,605.51.

Among actives, Astral Supreme lost one sen to 20 sen, Wintoni fell half a sen to 7.5 sen and Xidelang Holdings declined two sen to 40.5 sen.

As for heavyweights, Maybank erased nine sen to RM9.51, Tenaga Nasional dropped two sen to RM11.94 and CIMB eased seven sen to RM7. — Bernama
