KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 ― Shares on Bursa Malaysia were traded lower at mid-morning today amid a mixed finish on Wall Street overnight.

At 11.01 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was quoted at 1, 834.76, down 3.93 points after fluctuating between 1,834 and 1,836.48.

Gainers slightly outnumbered losers 290 to 281, while 285 counters were unchanged, 767 were untraded and 15 others were suspended.

Turnover totalled 566.1 million shares worth RM442.71 million.   

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index improved 14.6 points to 16,535.31, the Plantation Index rose 38.271 points to 8,974.86 but the Industrial Index eased 2.37 points to 3,163.39.

The FBM Emas Index lost 12.43 points to 12,712.08, the FBMT100 Index dropped13.84 points to 12,383.73 while the FBM 70 was 33.57 points higher at 13,997.67 and the FBM ACE added 12.13 points to 6,571.99.

Among actives, Luster Industries, AT Systematization and EA Holdings earned half-a-sen each to 11 sen, 8.5 sen an 19 sen respectively; Xidelang lost one sen to 40 sen while CSL was flat at 20.5 sen.

As for heavyweights, Maybank was flat at RM9.70 while TNB lost 14 sen toRM11.98, CIMB slipped one sen to RM7.08 and Axiata erased four sen to RM6.51.

Sime Darby added one sen to RM9.24. ― Bernama
