KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 — Malaysia Airlines (MAS) today announced astrategic partnership with Chennai-based Ramco Systems, an IT solutions provider, for a suite of critical enterprise-wide engineering solutions.

The five-year deal includes aircraft maintenance, maintenance service sales, as well as operational, human resources and financial functions, the national carrier said in a statement today.

MAS Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said the implementation of the solutions would allow the national carrier to operate state-of-the-art aviation business processes to improve and optimise fleet management and give advance updates on Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) as well as engineering matters, facilitating decision-making on both desk-top and mobile devices.

“We look forward to achieving a higher level of efficiency with the Ramco MRO enterprise solutions to change the way our engineering and maintenance operations works.

“In today’s competitive market, it is important to leverage on new technology to attain levels of productivity and efficiency so that we are at par with leading MRO around the world,” he said.

He said with the aviation industry facing intense competition and pressure on yields, MAS is transforming a suite of critical functions from the tarmac to the corporate headquaters.

“Through this investment, we are able to reap economies of scale to improve efficiency, implement Cloud-enabled mobile solutions, and have the flexibility to expand and cater to changing business needs for the future,” he said. — Bernama
