KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained lower at mid-morning today, led by losses in plantation counters, dealers said. At 11.05am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 3.9 points to 1,829.85, after opening 3.54 points lower at 1,830.21. Sime Darby declined 12 sen to RM9.10, IOI Corporation slipped 7 sen to RM4.66 and Felda Global Ventures lost 6 sen to RM4.52.
The Finance Index dropped 20.73 points to 16,535.27, the Plantation Index dipped 65.57 points to 8,757.35, and the Industrial Index declined 5.43 points to 3,129.95. The FBM Emas Index fell 34.89 points to 12,640.03, the FBMT100 Index 31.21 points to 12,311.58, the FBM ACE 41.8 points to 6,611.50 and the FBM 70 54.11 points to 13,764.46.
Market breadth was negative, with 464 losers and 167 gainers, while 275 counters were unchanged, 725 untraded and 33 others suspended. Turnover totalled 755.35 million shares worth RM557 million.
Among actives, Minetech Resources and Iris Corporation lost 1 sen each at 19.5 sen and 56 sen respectively, while Malaysia Airlines fell 0.5 sen to 25.5 sen.
Among heavyweights, Maybank fell 1 sen to RM9.72, Tenaga Nasional lost 10 sen to RM11.92, with CIMB flat at RM7.10. — Bernama
