KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 ― Share prices on Bursa Malaysia turned lower at mid-morning today, led by losses in selected heavyweight stocks, dealers said.
At 11 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 0.08 point to 1,828.6, after opening 1.3 points better at 1,829.98.
Kuala Lumpur Kepong declined 56 sen to RM23.84, Petronas Dagangan slipped 28 sen to RM30.28 and Maxis erased two sen to RM6.95.
The Finance Index dropped 10.12 points to 16,553.04, the Plantation Index lost 30.79 points to 8,769.17, while the Industrial Index gained 7.81 points to 3,125.94.
The FBM Emas Index declined 5.69 points to 12,645.68, the FBMT100 Index slid 0.02 point to 12,312.72, the FBM ACE fell 130.33 points to 6,675.16 while the FBM 70 rose 2.06 points to 13,803.07.
Market breadth was negative with 480 losers and 205 gainers, while 287 counters were unchanged, 661 untraded and 17 others suspended.
Turnover totalled 1.53 billion shares worth RM718.19 million.
Among actives, Luster Industries and KNM Group fell one sen each to 12.5 sen and 17.5 sen respectively, and Iris Corp lost four sen to 57.5 sen.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank lost one sen to RM9.74, Tenaga Nasional slipped two sen to RM12.02 while CIMB gained two sen to RM7.11. ― Bernama
