KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 24 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia turned mixed at mid-morning today, weighed down by losses in selected blue chip stocks, dealers said.  

At 11:05am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 1.78 points to 1,828.96, after opening 0.7 of a point better at 1,831.44.          

The Finance Index dropped 20.65 points to 16,543.63, the Industrial Index lost 8.27 points to 3,126.55, while the Plantation Index gained 14.88 points to 8,756.75. 

The FBM Emas Index declined 8.84 points to 12,659.02 and the FBMT100 Index slid 8.66 points to 12,317.35.         

The FBM 70 gained 3.69 points to 13,817.15 and the FBM Ace rose 119.59 points to 6,823.72. 

Market breadth was positive with 341 gainers and 301 losers, while 299 counters were unchanged, 676 untraded and 17 others suspended. 

Turnover totalled 564.53 million shares worth RM1.41 billion.  

Among actives, Luster Industries added two sen to 13.5 sen, Asia Bioenergy Tech rose half a sen to 16 sen, while Minetech Resources was flat at 20 sen.          

Of the heavyweights, Maybank lost two sen to RM9.74, while Tenaga Nasional improved four sen to RM12.04 and CIMB gained one sen to RM7.08. — Bernama
