KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 — MyEG Services Bhd’s (MyEG) shares on the Bursa Malaysia rose during the morning session today after securing a RM180 million contract from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department yesterday.

The counter saw 4.19 million shares transacted as at 11:22am, and was up seven sen or 2.42 per cent to RM2.96 after opening at RM2.95, a premium of six sen from yesterday’s close of RM2.89.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, MyEG said the contract was to undertake the Customs Online Tax Reporting or Electronic Monitoring System project.

The tenure of the project was six years and would commence from April 1 this year.

MyEG said the project would entail linking up point-of-sales terminals and cash registers of businesses that are subject to customs’ tax collection, enabling the customs to effectively monitor tax collection revenue for the government. — Bernama
