KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 — The ringgit slipped against the US dollar, in early trading this morning, on mild profit taking inline with other riskier currencies, dealers said.

At 9am, the ringgit was quoted at 3.2160/2190 to the dollar from yesterday's 3.2080/2100.

A dealer said the greenback was supported by yesterday's release of good US factory activity data for November.

The ringgit, however, opened mostly higher against other major currencies.

The local unit depreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.5593/5637 from 2.5578/5604 Monday but firmed against the yen at 3.1238/1280 from 3.1246/1271, previously.

It strengthened against the British pound to 5.2607/2660 from 5.2611/2657 on yesterday and improved against the euro to 4.3529/3576 from 4.3594/3627 yesterday. — Bernama
