KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia opened in positive territory this morning, boosted by gains in Petronas-related stocks.

At 9.26am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 6.32 points higher at 1,804.78, after opening at 1,799.88.

Gainers led losers 175 to 131, with 173 counters unchanged, 1,114 untraded and 48 others suspended. Turnover amounted to 164.96 million shares worth RM88.13 million.

Top gainer Petronas Dagangan’s share price jumped 60 sen or 1.96 per cent to RM31.10 while Petronas Gas shares soared 52 sen or 2.25 per cent to RM23.62.

HwangDBS Vickers Research said the local equities market could probably see a sideways trading pattern, with the benchmark FBM KLCI treading around the psychological mark of 1,800.

The Finance Index surged 22.41 points to 16,597.4, the Industrial Index up 16.53 points at 3,137.47, and the Plantation Index rose 41.72 points to 8,833.19.

The FBM Emas Index gained 32.47 points to 12,534.09, the FBMT100 Index 33.18 points to 12,258.63, and FBM Ace 35.09 points better at 5,685.36, but the FBM 70 fell 1.49 points to 14,172.97.

Among actives, Instacom bagged 2.5 sen for 27.5 sen, DSC Solutions added 7.5 sen to 38.5 sen, while Ingenuity Consolidated lost 0.5 sen to 8 sen.

Heavyweights Maybank gained 2 sen to RM9.57, Sime Darby added 1 sen to RM9.65, and CIMB shed 2 sen to RM7.58. — Bernama
