KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia remained firmer at mid-morning today spurred by across-the-board buying interest, dealers said.
At 11am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, which opened at 1,797.29, rose 7.13 points to 1,801.65.
Gainers led losers by 353 to 229, with 258 counters unchanged, 760 untraded and 25 others suspended.
Volume amounted to 624.2 million shares worth RM428.58 million.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index improved 79.44 points to 16,523.69, the Industrial Index rose 14.92 points to 3,142.91, while the Plantation Index was 7.55 points better at 8,814.78.
The FBM Emas Index advanced 48.58 points to 12,543.33, the FBMT100 Index soared 47.62 points to 12,267.89, the FBM Ace surged 45.05 points to 5,681.26 and the FBM 70 was 25.40 points higher at 14,282.75.
Among actives, DSC Solutions and Insas added one sen each to 27 sen and 93 sen respectively, while Sumatec and EA Holdings each improved 1.5 sen to 33 sen and 19.5 sen.
Patimas was unchanged at one sen.
For the heavyweights, Petronas Chemicals rose eight sen to RM6.71, Maybank increased 10 sen to RM9.69, British American Tobacco was 64 sen higher at RM63, Petronas Gas chalked up 22 sen to RM23.76 and CIMB added six sen to RM7.50. — Bernama
