KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were easier at mid-afternoon today, hit by losses in selected heavyweights, dealers said.

At 2.42pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell by 6.34 points to 1,797.87, after opening at 1,805.07. 

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index dipped 48.82 points to 16,689.39, Plantation Index lost 26.92 points to 8,604.98 and the Industrial Index eased 16.69 points to 3,089.27.

The FBM Emas Index fell 39.83 points to 12,519.7, FBMT100 Index declined 36.83 points to 12,519.7, the FBM Ace was 0.06 of a point lower at 5,913.05 and the FBM 70 slipped 13.671 points to 14,287.52.   

Decliners overwhelmed advancers by 460 to 267, with 303 counters unchanged, 581 untraded and 24 others were suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.557 billion shares worth RM1.017 billion.   

Among actives, Luster Industries and Nextnation both added one sen each to 10 sen, respectively while Tiger Synergy was flat at 26.5 sen.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank dropped two sen to RM9.89 and CIMB declined six sen to RM7.54.

Axiata added one sen to RM6.85. — Bernama
