KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 — The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar in early trading today as the domestic currency weakened against the improving US economic outlook, dealers said.

The local currency was quoted at 3.1725/1755 against a US dollar from 3.1710/1740 on Friday.

The ringgit also depreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.5527/5570 from 2.5523/5549 last week.

However, the local currency was traded higher against the Japanese yen to 3.2143/2180 from 3.2278/2312 on Friday and improved versus the British pound to 5.0551/0611 from 5.0765/0819 last week and appreciated against the euro to 4.2829/2872 from 4.2929/2973 last week. — Bernama
