KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia turned lower at mid-morning today due to profit-taking after recent gains, dealers said.
At 11.05am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) declined 4.27 points to 1,814.66, after opening 0.33 of a point lower at 1,818.6.
The Finance Index slid 31.83 points to 16,839.85 and the Plantation Index fell 20.63 points to 8,508.55, but the Industrial Index rose 4.96 points to 3,119.18.
The FBM Emas Index dipped 22.91 points to 12,616.61, the FBMT100 lost 24.4 points for 12,344.05, the FBM Mid 70 Index fell 9.22 points to 14,346.67, and the FBM Ace Index was 10.79 points easier at 5,560.8.
Losers led gainers by 288 to 222, with 292 counters unchanged, 837 untraded and 39 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 641.07 million shares worth RM314.59 million.
Among actives, Hubline added one sen to seven sen, while The Media Shoppe and Sumatec-OR lost half sen each for 8.5 sen.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank gained one sen to RM9.98, while Axiata and CIMB lost one sen each for RM6.91 and RM7.66. – Bernama
