KOTA BARU, Sept 30 — The market for local craft products overseas is expanding following the promotion programme implemented by Kraftangan Malaysia.
Its director-general Mohd Kamil Mohd Ali said promotions held in Hong Kong, Germany, Dubai, United Kingdom and the latest in Moscow received encouraging response from buyers.
“Next year we will organise a promotion of our craft products in Brazil which we expect will be well received,” he told reporters after a meeting with Kelantan craft entrepreneurs here yesterday.
Mohd Kamil said the common craft products promoted overseas are pewter, ceramics, batik and wooden products from the forests.
There are 6,783 craft entrepreneurs nationwide and the number will continue to rise next year following the development of a young entrepreneurs programme. — Bernama
