KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained healthy at mid-morning today boosted by gains on selected blue-chip counters, dealers said.

At 11.03am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) index emerged 8.48 points to 1,726.04.

Gainers outpaced losers 285 to 166, with 242 counters unchanged, 874 untraded and 13 others suspended.

Turnover totalled 355.56 million shares worth RM300.04 million.   

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 68.7 points to 16,161.95, the Industrial Index was 6.27 points better at 2,896.74 and the Plantation Index added 13.98 points to 8,178.74.

The FBM Emas Index jumped 54.17 points to 11,949.77, the FBMT100 Index gained 52.65 points to 11,713.28, the FBM70 Index went up 40.43 points to 13,498.45 but the FBM Ace Index fell 21.82 points to 4,864.07.

Among actives, Pesona Metro and Digistar Corp earned two sen each to 47 sen and 30 sen respectively, while MG Technology shed 3.5 sen to 11 sen and iDimension eased half a sen to 1.5 sen.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank gained seven sen to RM10.06, Axiata benefited nine sen to RM6.75, CIMB increased three sen to RM7.21 while Sime Darby dipped one sen to RM9.40. — Bernama
