KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained lower at mid-morning today with 25 out of 30 companies listed in the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) index recording losses.

At 11.15am, the benchmark index stood at 1,716.67, down 10.91 points.

Losers outpaced gainers 386 to 145, with 197 counters unchanged, 841 untraded and 13 others suspended.

Turnover totalled 450.37 million shares worth RM309.04 million.   

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index fell 85.62 points to 16,120.55, the Industrial Index was 20.68 points lower at 2,889.14 and the Plantation Index declined 66.1 points to 8,316.97.

The FBM Emas Index decreased 81.68 points to 11,886.9, the FBMT100 Index slipped 78.671 points to 11,650.56, the FBM70 Index declined 109.681 points to 13,429.85 and the FBM Ace Index fell 16.93 points to 4,912.88.

Among actives, Compugates and Asia Media were flat at six sen and 12 sen respectively, while Pesona fell 1.5 sen to 44 sen.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank slipped two sen to RM9.98, Axiata declined eight sen to RM6.66 but Sime Darby rose one sen to RM9.40. — Bernama
