MELAKA, Oct 29 — Felcra Berhad has been directed to fully cover the tuition fees of children of its participants who excel in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examinations.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the sponsorship would cover tuition fees until the students completed their studies, for those who obtained straight As in the SPM and a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.00 in the STPM.
He said the initiative was aimed at ensuring that the academic excellence and educational needs of Felcra participants’ children continued to receive due attention, stressing that financial constraints should not stand in the way of their future.
“I also hope that Kolej Felcra will place greater emphasis on Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes to produce skilled workers in the agricultural technology sector.
“We need to look at how the next generation can build their own income. Education and skills must be an important investment so that the children of participants have more employment and entrepreneurship opportunities,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, was speaking at the declaration ceremony for Felcra Berhad’s second interim profit distribution for 2026 in Ayer Keroh here today.
Also present were Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang and Felcra Berhad chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub. — Bernama
